Giving and Offerings
2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
We greatly appreciate offerings from our members. Not only are offerings the only way we keep the lights on at Cornerstone, but a percentage of those donations also fund our various ministries on both a local and global scale.
We currently do not accept online donations, but we accept cash or check in our offering boxes inside our church sanctuary.
Ministries we financially support:
- Food Bank
- Malibu Club Young Life Camp
- Sound View Camp
- Olympia Union Gospel Mission
- Millie Jenkins’ mission in Papua New Guinea
Buildings and Grounds
The function of the Buildings and Grounds Committee is the care and maintenance of the Cornerstone campus and buildings. Our vision is to always follow proper procedures that ensure the responsible stewardship of the beautiful grounds and facility that God has provided us.
Members of the Building and Grounds team perform landscaping tasks and maintenance of the church buildings and the rental property. Other areas of responsibility include tasks that are necessary to keep the buildings in compliance with local and state regulations. The Building and Grounds Committee meetings are convened on an as-needed basis.
Every fall we have a major half day for cleanup and we are joined in this activity by the Rock Church who uses our facility for their weekly worship. Throughout the year various work projects are ongoing.
Since all of the work that we do is with volunteers we gladly welcome anyone who would like to lend a helping hand. We meet every Saturday during the Spring and Summer months at 9 am for “Lovin’ The Lawn”. In the Fall and Winter that can change as the weather permits. If you would like to be a part of the team contact Chris Brombach @ 360-970-9099.
Union Gospel Mission
4:00pm to 7:00pm on the 3rd Monday of every month.
At Cornerstone, we feel obligated to do what we can to help the homeless in the community of Olympia. As such, we volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission once a month in an event known as “Taco Monday.” Together, we feed those in need with 30 pounds of ground beef, 5 pounds of rice, 6 gallons beans, 5 pounds of cheese, 10 pounds of onions, a gallon of salsa, way too much lettuce, and roughly 300 taco shells! As you can imagine, this is quite an undertaking, and requires between 6 to 10 people to prepare and serve! We always need more volunteers, so come join us in this meaningful endeavor.
